TERRIBLE Customer Service

In early November 2012 I purchased a brand new Frigidaire Gallery counter dept fridge and matching oven. Frank helped me with the purchase and assured me that since I work for a Real Estate company he would provide GREAT customer service to earn my referrals. The product was delivered but I did not move into my new home until the end of November and had not used either appliance. I quickly noticed that the middle drawer supports were not level (damaged) and appeared to be "punched" into the side of the fridge liner. Well it's been three months, a TON of run around and neither Frigidaire or HHGregg will fix the problem.

HHGregg sucks

I will never grace the doors of that establishment ever again and will advise everyone I know to never do business with them. Bought a Stove and Refrig and both were defective immediately after delivery. The refrig was also dented. the refrig almost burned my house down with the ice machine motor burnt up. The oven door jammed shut and could not get the food out. Can't get anyone to return my calls. Manager is rude. Was a disaster from the the delivery on. THE WORST SERVICE EVER!!!!!! You cannot get anyone to call you back. All are ***

I HAVE A DRYER THAT WAS BOUGHT AT HH GREGG. THEY REFERRED THIS COMPANY. BEWARE! THE COMPANY IS TERRIBLE. I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET MY DRYER FIXED FOR A MONTHJ!!!!! When calling this company you are put on hold for at least 25 min. They do not know an email address so you can email the company or a number to call to make a complaint. Parts arrived at our house and were bad parts when they got there to put them on. Service man did not seem to car. This has been a horrible experience. Call after call, i have been put on hold!

They don't care about their clients

They apparently don't really care about thier clients or about the fact that they lost one as can be seen below by the response from one of their so called customer care reps:

Dear Mr. Andy,

We regret a payment issue caused difficulties.

We respect your decision to shop elsewhere.

Thank you,

To Whom It May Concern:

I purchased a Samsung 55" TV from your store back in November 2011 and used an hhgregg credit card account that I had opened at that time. Last night I went into the store in Schaumburg, IL looking to purchase a Samsung HTE6500W complete home theater system and an HDMI cable to go with it, the store associate I was dealing with was very helpful and attentive, and also let me know that the item that I was looking to purchase was actually going up in price today; he got everything together for me and attempted to help me check out. At that time my credit card kept getting declined, so they called the bank that issues your credit cards. They told the store associate that it was due to a missed payment last month and asked to speak to me, I explained that I had an oversight when paying my bills in May and forgot to pay the hhgregg card that month, but had already had my bank electronically mail out the payment on Tuesday the 12th of this month. If you were to look back at the payment history that I have had since obtaining this account, you would see that before May I never had a late payment and have sent in $100.00 per month, well over the minimum payments required each month, also to make up for the missed payment in May (as I said that was completely my fault and a mistake that I made), but had just sent them a payment of $225.00 to make up for May's missed payment, the June payment, and the $25.00 for the late payment fee on Tuesday, it only takes my bank one day to send the payments in so at the very latest they should be posting that payment today thereby completely catching me up on the account and then some. To my disappointment, both the associate at the bank (who was quite rude when I was talking to him), and a supervisor there both told me that my previous history with them was of no consequence and until they saw some sort of payment activity they were keeping the hold on the account and would not let me make the purchase that night (this over a late payment of $60.00 plus the $61.00 current payment due for June for a total of $121.00, of which they have probably already posted nearly twice that to my account today. The other odd thing was that even though they put a hold on my account, the statement that they sent me showing the missed payment also proudly anounced that since I was such a good customer they increased my credit limit to $4000.00 from $2000.00, funny but it didn't feel like it when I was talking to them. Since the bank that you do business with could not trust me, and did not think that I was as good of a client as the statement suggested, I told them to permanently close the account and hung up with them. I thanked the store associates for their help and left the store that I will never step foot into again.

As I said earlier, the store associate told me that the $650.00 theater system that I was interested in was going up in price the next day so I promptly went down the street to the Best Buy that is closer to my house than your store is (yes I used to drive past them to go to you), and opened a new account with them and spent close to $800.00 for the system that I wanted and the HDMI cables needed. I now will be going to them for all of my electronics needs (future purchases already planned: refridgerator, digital camera, and a digital video camera, all items that I will purchase anywhere but hhgregg).

I don't usually waste my time complaining about unpleasant experiences, but this one really aggrivated me and the treatment from the bank acting like I am some type of deadbeat who doesn't pay his bills just sent me over the edge. As a Service Director for a highline car dealership I would want to know what happened to cause me to lose a client as you now have, so here it is.

Severely disappointed,

Andy

My daughter bought new townhouse back in November she was so exited that right after closing  we went to HH Gregg in Schaumburg to get all new appliances. Everything went well they delivered  all appliances a week later and installed . The new  place needed some extra work with panting and carpet so she didn’t  move into  her new place till right before Christmas. Before she moved in we checked all appliances to make sure everything was working and everything was ok except the  LG dryer.  The LG dryer started making really loud noises and started smoking.... first thing we did was to call HH Greg for help.  HH Gregg’s response was very simple because we bought in November and it is more then 30 days they couldn’t do anything  we had to call LG for service. We found out from  the service person that the dryer was delivered to us damaged. There were screws inside the blowe,r and foam that was caused the smoke. We received a  damaged dryer from HH Gregg and they didn’t want take any responsibility. They just delivered and installed but never checked to make sure it was working,  and then it was our problem.

For more fun the dryer was stack-able  so they told us we had to move the dryer to the floor, which caused  more damage because there were  scratches from moving it from the top of the washer and putting back on.

I went to HH Gregg in Schaumbug to explain to them my problem and asked for a  new dryer. An assistant  manager was really nice and he understood my point ..  but said it had to be  approved by the manager of the store who wasn't nice about it . The manager was very rude with no manners I was just told that it was my problem and I  should have checked the dryer when it was delivered. I bought brand new dryer and I  was expecting to be  new and working and HH Gregg took no responsibility and I ended up paying for a brand new dryer that now looks old and damaged.

I will never buy anything from HH Greg again.....nor will  my other family and friends ...

HH Gregg "Free Delivery" is just a joke!

Went to HH Gregg, Springfield, VA with the intent on buying a washer/dryer (cash). Fortunately I learned that the so-called free delivery was yet another bogus rebate in terms of a Visa Card which takes weeks to receive. Then the damm card goes down in value if not used it right away. They conveniently don't tell you this and the sales person argued with me when I told him that free means free! No strings attached. I walked out, made my purchase at Home Depot, got "real free delivery" and will never again go into HH Gregg!

PPS... I went back to HH Gregg to ask for a credit to my charge card. Had a wonderful customer service counter gal named Michelle.

(Egg Harbor Township, NJ location).

She was all ready to give me the $1000 or so credit, no problem. (as I hadn't even had items delivered yet).

I told her I was uncomfortable with their "free delivery"for my oven, being a "bedding rebate" form. And , that free delivery should mean no strings attached.

She immediately offered to give me totally free delivery.

I also mentioned I was about to go to Home Depot for my dishwasher, cuz their installation fee was $99, instead of $149.

I was offered a price match immediately.

Happy ending. The quick actions of Michelle got me to keep my plans with HH Gregg.

And, today, Nov. 5th, I had the successful deliveries of both my GE Oven, as well as my Frigidaire Dishwasher.

Raymond (& assistant) delivered the oven, very personable.

Dishwasher guy was real cool, as well.

Guest

And, my $79.99 rebate form said it was for friggin "BEDDING" products of $599, & higher.

Another RED FLAG went up for me, cuz I was buying an OVEN, not BEDDING !!!!

And, I was only spending $440 for the oven .

I figured there was a chance that rebate wouldn't even go thru properly

Guest

thx, Wash DC, for confirming my suspiscions about their so called "free delivery".

I bought an oven range , and a dishwasher from HH Gregg tonight. And, it felt funny that they gave me that $79.99 rebate form for that Visa gift card. FREE was supposed to mean no catches. Or, so I thought.

And, add to the fact that the $149.99 dishwasher installation fee sounds way too high.

Your review is enough for me to take my receipt back to the store tomorrow, for a full refund. (my items weren't gonna get delivered till next week, anyway).

It all just didn't feel Kosher to me !!

THEY DO NOT HONOR THEIR COUPONS!

Sounds like all similar complaints here. We received a post card from GE Capital listed in the left corner and hhgregg listed in the right corner. It stated a 5% discount would be received with that card for any purchase over $299. You guessed it. The salesman told us he would be fired if he gave us the discount - the manager said he had never seen this coupon before and would not honor it. He told us to call GE Capital - and, of course, they said it was hhgregg's responsibility to honor it. We bought a computer. So - nobody gives a *** about customer service there. If they continue to misrepresent themselves and give this lousy customer service, they won't be around too long. THEY LOST 2 good customers. We will shop exclusively at Best Buy from now on!!! So angry. It isn't the money but rather the manner in which we were treated - very unethical. I can't trust a company like this to do business with.

Hhgregg customer service/sales employees sucks

8/24/12 customer service and the sales employee saw me walk in they were all standing around talking to each other but no one approached and asked if i could be helped. i walked to the appliance and the mattress section thinking they might notice me if they thought i was going to buy an appliance or a mattress set. still no one approached me. 15min later a sales girl asked me if she could help. their customer service and sales people really need to realize that without customers money they wouldn't be able to feed their families .

HH Gregg makes money on sales. Sometimes, sales people will size you up to see how much money they think they could make off of you.

They know that a low sale means that they will take home less money. Some don't even bother. I visited an Ashley store and spent about 20 minutes in the store before someone decided to ask if I needed help.

There were sales people standing around talking or just ignoring me. I got frustrated and took my business elsewhere.

Guest

Why did you not just give them the wrong phone number? That is what I do if i don't want to give my phone number.

A lot of the computer registers will not let you finish the sale without a phone number in case there was a problem later on with the charge. You don't have to give them the correct number just a phone number to complete the sale.

That is what I do. I don't get in a snit and walk out.

Guest

I hate HHGregg and have not been in there for over five years b/c of their lack of customer service. They do not even ATTEMPT to assist you.

Well, the other day, I went into the store to buy a radio on sale. As usual, I walked in and was ignored by the workers. I walked to the area, picked the one I wanted and went to the counter. An employee started to ring me up and asked for my telephone number, which I do not give out. When I informed her that I do not give out that information, she advised that I could not purchase the item with my debit card without providing a telephone number. This was ridiculous and I just walked out.

I guess it will be another five years, although I doubt if they will last this long!!

Customer Service Is Terrible!

Bought A Whirlpool Washer Front Load With A Extended Warranty And After 7 Trips To My House They Still Can't Seem To Fix It. The Service Company In Which They Use Don't Have A Clue How To Fix It And They Keep Ordering Parts For It And Then They Dont Install Them They Put Them In Their Truck And Take Them With Them. What A Scam!!! I Called HH Greg And Get No Help From Their Customer Service . They Tell Me To Keep Trying The Warranty Company Till They Get It Right. I Have Lost Work Time And Missed Meetings Over This And I Don't Feel As If The Customer Really Matters To Them. I have Been A Repeat Customer For Years And After This I Will Be Taking My Business Elsewhere!!!

When did you purchase this item? If this is still under 90 days from your purchase time then take it back!

HHG has a 90 day return policy. IF you are outside the 90 days and under the MFG warranty then contact the MFG.

This is not rocket science! YOU JUST WANT TO BE A DRAMA QUEEN!!!!

Breach of contract for Extended Warranty

I bought an Extended warranty for 60" TV from hhgregg for $ 200, when the TV stopped working I called them, they said a technician is coming and I waited all day at home but no one showed up on the day. I called them again and rescheduled but they did not send anyone. again third time the same happened, I continued calling them often and later when the warranty got expired now and they say the warranty is expired so they can't do anything. They agree that I started calling them when I had 6 months remaining in the contract, but repeatedly says that the warranty is now expired and they will not do anything. I called the corporate office and talked to a lady who claimed to be the manager who answered the same manner.

in November ,2010 we bought a Samsung Refrigerator, By april 2013 , refrigerator stop Cooling, thank God for the warranty, it got fixed, 6 months later, broke again, and again and again..this time, after parts were just replaced for 2 months , refrigerator start acting up again, i called the warranty number, and the agent on the other side said, they have to hear the refrigerator..really..we went to the store close to us and talk to the Manager..since it was Friday night, Reggie (HH Gregg manager , Midlothian Store Va.) said, we can not do anything cause of the week end but Monday, as soon as i get the email from you, i will call you..here it is Wed. and no word from Reggie..

My husband called and they said, Reggie is off , he will not be back till Friday..when my husband, ask that woman's name ( the one who answer their phone) she hang up and say, she doesn't need to listen to him.

that's OK..you just lost a customer lady and maybe soon, you will be out of job

This is all a fabrication as hh gregg would have consumer to call our service orovider and not store and there is no 60" tv that the service plan cost only $200.

Guest

Soo not true. First customer's do call the store, then are referred to the the plan #.

To get a customer to buy a product, sales people promise to reduce the cost of the warranty, which brings the most dollars to their paycheck. To do this they gouge it out of the product, like cables and add ons. so in essence you are only paying 200 for the warranty.

Although the company culture is 100% customer satisfaction, and follow up with subcontracted services to the customer, the problem is people inexperienced, as managers, who do not give a *** about customers.

The main concern is always the bonus they receive :grin and how many warranties they sell... oh and don't forget the mandatory phone quota!

Hhgregg has a corporate philosophy of ***

Just needed to share my story: I purchased a suite of LG high end stainless steel appliances less than a year ago from hhgregg. The appliances are pitting and rusting, and LG has determined that it is from my "over cleaning"! How convenient for LG that they know that the stainless steel wipes, made specifically for stainless steel appliances, caused the rust. It couldn't possibly be defective materials used to build the appliances! Of course, this will become a lawsuit, and I will prevail. In the meantime, don't purchase LG appliances from hhgregg - or anywhere - because they don't honor their warranty, their appliances are made with inferior materials, and their customer service is non-existent. And, I'm not getting any help from hhgregg, either. They tell you to call vendor relations at corporate, then no one calls you back. Whatever happened to doing the right thing???????

You didn't use bleach or products containing bleach did you? That stuff destroys stainless steal. Also, please come do some of that ninja cleaning you do at my house!

Alan C Xap

HH Gregg does not own a service company. After the return policy period, it us up to YOU to obtain warranty service.

In fact, All most appliance dealers require service calls during the return policy period (to verify a claim).

Read the warranty regarding the "stainless" steel.

Usually, rusting is in general an exclusion. Otherwise, you want to contact LG customer support and hash out the issues with them.

Concerned Citizen (troll)

The complainant wrote that the item purchased was "less than a year ago" not "after a year or so". Good stores back up the merchandise they sell. hhgregg appears to be a company that had success in small markets, and then expanded too quickly in to large ones.

I cannot speak about all of their stores, but the ones that I have been in had not so smart associates. In one store an associate insisted that the "D" in "DSLR" stood for "detachable". DSLR cameras, according to him, "are cameras with detachable lenses." I replied that the "D" meant that the camera was "digital". In his case, perhaps also "duh".

Guest

Wow. I have read a ton of these postings but yours has gotta be the best by far! So let me get this straight, you bought appliances from a retailer, and after a year or so there is rust. Of course the rust is the retailers fault! I'm sure when you called the store, after everyone finished laughing at you they told you to just bring them in and they'd replace them with no questions asked, right?? No? Oh you mean you waaaay outside the return policy? And in fact HHGregg has nothing to do with your rust?

And I'm shocked to hear that no one from their Vebdor Relations has called you back. (not really)

When you buy a new car, can you bring it back after 9 months claiming rust?? Probably not!!!

Just another example of plain stupidity.

Guest

sorry, but you're speaking from an isolated incident. my lg stainless appliances have been perfect for years, and even when I did have a problem, lg took care of it for me even though I was out of warranty.

yes, no one buy lg appliance because some random nobody had a problem.

HH Gregg ripped us off!

We bought a washer and dryer from them. The salesman said he could get us half off the pedestals for buying the set. Then he backed out of that promise and could only take 20 bucks off. We bought the set anyway and got the pedestals for less on eBay. When they came to deliver they refused to install them on the pedestals since they weren't purchased at H.H. Gregg. These people are CROOKS! AVOID!" i'm butting in a bunch of bogus words so it gets over the 100 words that these idiots think is necessary to have a full description...uhhhggg!

HHGREGG :(

With the progress this week, came some set backs. Actually, the biggest one is a part of a long drawn-out string of setbacks. We started working on replacing all our appliances in our kitchen at the beginning of June. The company we bought them from – hhgregg – has been the worst company we have ever dealt with. We expected to have the whole job done by the end of June. Instead, we are nearing the end of August and STILL don't even have the last part (a downdraft fan unit for our stove). The downdraft unit has been just one of a series of ridiculous mistakes. We have gone through three different stages on the downdraft: wrong unit purchased in the first place (no vent fan), supposedly ordering the missing fan (only to find out the unit we had required an external fan which wouldn't work in our setup), and waiting weeks for the correct downdraft unit and fan. We finally got the correct unit on Friday – only to find out upon opening the box a USED and DAMAGED one. I was flabbergasted! And this is after we experienced problems with almost every other element of the original order. Unbelievable. We'll now be waiting at least a week for them to track down another unit.

HHGregg Sells Customer Info

HHGregg sells former customer info, including names and phone numbers, to other companies so that former customers who are on the Federal Do Not Call list will get unwanted sales calls attempting to sell extended warranty coverage. Obviously, they care little about personal privacy or federal mandates regarding intruding phone calls. I will never spend another dollar with this company. When you call to complain, do not expect any satisfaction since customer satisfaction is a totally foreign concept to these crooks. Now I know why there are so many unwanted calls coming to me, this company is the source. Buyer Beware.

It has been a year since you posted this, but I feel the need to reply anyway. This comment is at best false, and at worst blatantly libelous.

I used to work for HH Gregg and had connections to corporate. They absolutely do not sell your info, and they absolutely never have.

This company does a very good job of handling personal data ethically. Ethics is a concept that must be foreign to you, as libel is very illegal, and in breach of the ninth commandment.

Washing machine not installed in the drain pan

The HH Gregg delivery and installation folks didn't install our washing machine in the drain pan and were lazy enough to not even install the feet on them. This happened over a year ago and I only realized that the installation wasn't done right after my builder pointed it out. Now, when I called them back (several calls to get to the right people - between the store, the corporate office and their delivery center), they would not come out to install it the right way. The reason cited was "too much liability" to do the installation.I will be sure to take my business elsewhere.

You're asking a company to return a year later to fix something you should have taken care of when it happened. If they come back now and do what you ask and then your washer malfunctions they very well could be held liable and from what I see you would be the kind of person to blame them.

I understand your concern, but I also know about liability issues as I am an attorney.

HHGregg should have installed your washer correctly. There is no denying that, however they can not fix that mistake over a year later.

Poor customer service brier creek raleigh nc

Purchased a gas range and was assured that the adaptor/connectors for propane conversion would be included with it. Range delivered, gas company arrives to run propane line and hook up range only to discover that there were no adapters included. When I called the store, the initial employee told me that they could be at the store in 3 days but they would charge to hook it up. After talking to a manager, he ordered the connectors but I had to make a trip to their warehouse (25 miles, round trip) and I had to pay another service call ($85) to have the hook up completed.....no apology, no offer of a refund.....we have always stayed clear of this place and now I know why. On the bright side...the range seems to be working fine....doubt Inwill ever shop there again due to employee/manager *** poor attitude.

Avoid HH Gregg in Brier creek raleigh NC. We purchased a washer and dryer from them which was a huge mistake, the washer was a clunker and nobody could find a service tech to help address the issue. I could go on and on about the 8 months of *** customer service and numerous non responses and delays.

They don't treat customers well at all after the sale, I will never shop there again and would encourage everyone to avoid this store.
